Will Bronn Kill Jaime and Tyrion for Cersei’s Sake?

Recently, I speculated about a potential outcome in Game of Thrones, and received some backlash for what some saw as a spoiler. However, this was simply a hypothesis based on the characters' motivations and past actions, not a cliffhanger reveal from the season finale.

It is my opinion that Bronn will not kill Jaime and Tyrion for Cersei’s sake. Bronn is a practical, calculating individual, guided by his own self-interest and the protection of his own life. This perspective is supported by the events of the show and Bronn's character development.

Bronn's Changing Loyalties

During the course of the Game of Thrones series, Bronn has shown a series of strategic actions that align with self-preservation. After the events at the Second Battle of the Blackwater, Bronn voiced his doubts about Cersei’s rule. His concern stems from his realpolitik approach to survival. He understands that with Cersei as the Queen, he is merely a pawn in a larger game of strategy and cruelty.

Borny realizes that even the most powerful and seemingly invincible rulers like Cersei can turn on those closest to them for any perceived slight. His past behavior, particularly his differential treatment of others based on perceived value, indicates that he is not the kind of person to stay loyal when danger looms. He has demonstrated his willingness to ally with multiple factions, suggesting his primary loyalty lies with his own safety rather than a single cause or person.

Strategic Allies and Future Actions

Bronn's primary goal has always been to protect himself and gain advantages for his own survival. This could explain why he left King's Landing to join Jaime and, perhaps, the riverlands or the Reach. His actions were a calculated decision to avoid becoming a pawn or potential target in a power struggle.

There is no indication that Bronn would suddenly change his nature or motivations. Instead, he might align with other powerful factions, such as House Tully or the newly formed alliance of the North and Westerosi forces led by Jon and Daenerys, for his personal safety and security. This would provide him with a sense of control over his destiny and a degree of leverage in the ongoing conflict.

Impacts of Bronn’s Arrival

If Bronn were to join forces with the Lannister brothers, it could significantly alter the landscape of the ongoing Westerosi conflict. His presence would bolster the Lannister forces, providing them with additional troops and resources. This could make Jaime and Lord Tywin more powerful and potentially more secure in their positions of authority.

Bronn’s decision to side with the riverlands or the Reach could complicate Cersei’s plans, especially if it were revealed that Jon Snow is Rhaegar Targaryen's son and heir. Cersei’s threats to Jaime and Tyrion would likely be more directed by a desire to maintain her power and control, which could lead to logistical and political complications. A stronger alliance with House Tully and the Targaryen forces could force Cersei to reconsider her strategies, potentially leading to a shift in the balance of power.

Ultimately, Bronn's actions would be heavily influenced by his own self-interest. His proverbial survival instinct would likely drive him to align with the most robust and stable faction, ensuring his continued safety and prosperity.
