Will Avengers 4 Introduce Mutants to the MCU?

When Stan Lee created the X-Men, he did so with a clever rationale: to avoid the need for elaborate origins for mutant powers, simply stating that they were 'born that way' was far more straightforward. With this in mind, why do we need a detailed explanation or a reason to introduce mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)? After all, mutants are simply the 'next step in human evolution,' a concept supported by billions of years of life's progression. There's no need for an explanation; the last few billion years are proof enough.

Professor X and the Subtle Subterfuge

Perhaps Professor X has been teaching his students to suppress their powers and lead lives as ordinary humans for the past twenty years to avoid suspicion of their existence. Perhaps, once his students need to reveal their powers in self-defense, the world will discover that mutants are not only real but also growing in number. With this in mind, he would need to adjust his approach, teaching them to use their powers to fight for their survival, all without the need for a tedious explanation involving the Infinity Gauntlet, the Tesseract, or any other complex plot device.

The Speculation Game

Early in Avengers: Endgame, Rocket states, 'When Thanos snapped his fingers, Earth became ground zero for a power surge of ridiculously cosmic proportions. Nobody's ever seen anything like it... Until two days ago. On this planet [indicating the planet where Thanos had retired to become a farmer].' This speculation suggests that either of Thanos's snaps might trigger the mutation that leads to the introduction of the X-Men. However, this conflicts with the comic book stories, where the first mutants with powers resulting from the X-Men gene appeared decades ago.

Another clue is the reference to an earthquake under the ocean. Fans speculate that this will lead to the introduction of Namor in the MCU. Additionally, the film relies on the concepts of the Quantum Realm and time-travel, but it's not immediately clear how either of these would lead to the introduction of the X-Men.

A Speculative Scenario for Avengers 4

This is all pure speculation, but there's a good chance we'll see mutants introduced into the MCU in some form. Given the complexity of the main plot, it's very unlikely we'll see them play a significant role in Avengers 4. However, Marvel typically has a plan, and this plan is usually revealed in the credits scenes.

Based on these hints, I predict we will see at least one of the following in the credits of Avengers 4:

Galactus Doom The Fantastic Four Wolverine, possibly Cyclops, or an unknown mutant

While these introductions won't directly change the outcome of the Thanos storyline, they will serve as a bridge to Phase 4 of the MCU.
