Why Schools Should Embrace Pro-Gun Policies

Why Schools Should Embrace Pro-Gun Policies

It is a fact that schools once embraced pro-gun policies. In the past, schools held hunting safety courses and even offered shooting ranges on campus, ensuring that students were both familiar with and proficient in gun safety. This is no longer the case, with many schools taking a decidedly anti-gun stance and pushing a progressive ideology that denies valuable education and constitutional rights.

Historical Context

Consider the Clover Park Senior High School Rifle Club 1941. During that time, schools not only allowed but encouraged the use of firearms as part of the curriculum. This was a period when school shootings were extremely rare. Removing topics such as religion, morals, and gun safety from the curriculum has, paradoxically, led to an increase in school massacres.

So, what if we re-integrated these important elements into our modern educational system, while simultaneously removing progressive ideologies? Could it be that doing so would lead to a significant reduction in school shootings?

Legal Rights and Practical Benefits

Being pro-gun is a completely legal activity and a constitutional right. Schools choose not to be pro-gun largely because they are run and controlled by individuals with socialist and communist leanings. These ideologues aim to take control of the educational system in the United States to push their own progressive agenda. When high school students are suspended for attending shooting ranges on their own time with their parents, it is an example of how far the pendulum has swung.

Gun Safety Education in Schools

Providing education on marksmanship and gun safety within schools can greatly contribute to responsible gun ownership and operation. As a student, I learned these skills back in my day, with live fire exercises on campus using .22LR rifles. This hands-on approach fostered safe and respectful behavior, a valuable lesson for any gun owner.

Addressing Misconceptions

Many schools are ignorant of the value in teaching responsible gun ownership. The fear of the unknown often leads to fear of guns. This is why it is essential to educate students on the proper use and safety of firearms. Merely banning guns does not magically make students less inclined to want to possess them.

Political Influence in Schools

Teachers and administrators often hold leftist ideologies, which drive the conversations within schools. This is particularly evident in regions like northern Michigan, where schools cancel participation in rifle deer hunting due to low attendance. This action is a clear indication that these schools are, in fact, pro-gun, despite their publicized anti-gun stances.

Absence of support for pro-gun activities in schools does a disservice to students. Teachers and administrators should focus on teaching the responsible use of firearms rather than attempting to prevent any mention of guns altogether. Public education should not be used as a vehicle for indoctrination but rather as a means to provide accurate and factual information about gun ownership rights.
