In fact, these tanks are stored for 364 days out of the year, with only one day presumably reserved for public display. Another significant factor is the slow-paced introduction of the tank into the Russian military. Serial low-rate production by Uralvagonzavod was only supposed to start in 2022, with the first 40 tanks expected to be delivered by 2023. This timeline indicates that the T-14 is not yet ready for widespread deployment.

Moreover, the training of tank crews on the T-14 is still in progress. This is a crucial step that ensures operators can effectively utilize the tank's advanced features. Without this training, the tank's potential remains untapped.

Economic Considerations

The cost of the T-14 is also a significant factor. Russian military leaders seem to prefer the more affordable T-90 for most new tank orders. The T-14 may end up as a niche vehicle, produced only in small numbers due to its higher production costs.

Strategic Concerns

Russian reluctance to fully commit the T-14 to the battlefield can be attributed to several strategic concerns. For instance, there is a fear that a T-14 could get stuck in the mud or be captured by Ukrainian forces. Ukrainian farmers could potentially retrieve it for the benefit of western intelligence agencies, who would gain valuable insights into the tank's technology and capabilities.

Additionally, the T-14's tactical vulnerabilities may be better understood through western analysis. Theoretically, if one T-14 was knocked out on the battlefield, it could be captured and studied in detail. This strategic hesitation may be driving Russian reluctance to use the tank.

However, the lack of a victory parade indicates that these plans were never realized. Instead, the T-14 remains in storage near Moscow, awaiting a more opportune moment.
