The Endless Journey: How Many Times Have You Watched Star Wars Trilogy?

Introduction

Star Wars, the original trilogy, has captivated audiences for decades. Countless fans have watched it not just a few times, but several hundred. For many, it holds a special place in their hearts.

My Personal Journey with Star Wars

I wouldn’t begin to even know the number of times I have watched that movie, so I can say 'too many to count!'

Multiple times, really. In fact, I always look forward to doing a Star Wars movie marathon just as much as I like doing a Star Trek movie marathon.

Childhood Perspective

When I saw it for the first time, I was a young kid, and the movie was a great fun for me and nothing more. As a young girl:

Hey, Han Solo is handsome! C3PO and R2D2 were hilarious and the most interesting for me. Veery scary was Vader, and his master even more so. I wasn’t interested in Luke’s journey at all because it was written for boys. I wondered what that ‘Force’ was all about. I loved the happy ending.

Disney Era: A New Understanding

Since becoming a fan of the Disney era, I can understand everything much better. It is way different when you watch Star Wars movies when you are grown up. Since then, I like to watch that movie again and again, and sometimes just a part of it or a sequence or some dialog. Or listen to the music...

There’s always a little detail that I missed. Love them!

Multiples and More

Lost count - I've watched it many times. It’s weird because I feel like I’ve understood everything in every film until I go back and watch it again. There’s always a little detail that I missed.

A good amount of times, as a child, they are major classics. I first saw it when it opened in cinemas, and I caught it whenever it was on TV in the years afterwards. I saw it again in its “remastered” form and then stopped watching it until I got my hands on a copy of the original. My oldest child showed an interest and we watched it with him, and I rewatched it with him multiple times. Then my youngest son was old enough to see it…

Star Wars is a timeless classic, offering something for everyone to discover and rediscover. Whether you’re watching it for the first time or the hundredth, there's always something new to appreciate and remember.
