Personal Photography Chronicles: Moments Captured in 2022
As a photography enthusiast, I've had the privilege of capturing many remarkable moments in the past year. Here, I share some of my most cherished photos and the stories behind them.
The best photo of 2022
This is the best photo that I took so far in 2022. I captured Jinxie, my male Abyssinian kitten, at the ripe age of 9 months in February. Jinxie didn't quite ‘pose' for this picture. For about 15 minutes prior, he was quite aloof and seemed to ignore me completely. Then, he simply stared right through me for the next 10 minutes. The reason for his annoyance that day remains a mystery even to this day.
This photo stands out each time I pass by it on my camera roll. It's a perfect testament to the multiple shades of color and characteristic markings of a ruddy-colored Abyssinian cat. When this photo is compared with two earlier ones (see below), you can see the clear development and progression of his distinct Abyssinian coloration.
A Ukrainian Connection: Celebrating Friendship
In times of global conflict, it wasn't just the community of photographers who came together, but even my Ukrainian friend played a part. The skirt in the photo below was given to me during better times before the Russian invasion. I wore it on my birthday earlier this year, and I must say, it looked splendid on me.
Photography as a Hobby: Insights and Reflections
Beyond personal photos, my camera has served valuable insights into the world. It's a storyteller, and there's a world of beauty to be discovered through the viewfinder.
Here are some of the themes and emotions I've captured:
Every race is connected by the same humanity, something I often reflect upon. The innocence we lose as we grow up and our responsibility to build a home in a faster world. The craving for simple pleasures in life, like kababs, highlighting a universal longing. We are all travelers through the same world, seeking our own paths, some bright and colorful like a butterfly, others slower and more reserved like a caterpillar. Children, with their innocent eyes, teach us valuable lessons, even if we're too illiterate to understand. Observing and adapting to the trials and triumphs of the cycle in life. Pursuing a dream and the hope for peace in our world. Even if we can't physically visit somewhere, photography allows us to capture its beauty, such as the moon which we can't visit but can still explore through our lenses. The story of motherhood, buried within the chaos of life. The contrast between the tumultuous and the serene, always seeking balance. And, of course, the beauty of nature and its many wonders.Additional Thoughts
I've compiled a few more beautiful and magnificent photos of nature, including the innocent eyes of children and the moments of motherhood. These reminders of innocence and natural beauty can inspire us to see the world through a different lens.
