Navigating Bias in the A.R.M.Y.: My Journey with Jin and the BTS Universe

Ahhh the infamous question. One that is super straightforward but yet so complicated. Before I start, I'd just like to say that I’m an avid member of the A.R.M.Y., particularly an OT7 fan. My answer is simply a reflection of my thoughts and journey through the intricate world of BTS.

Admiring BTS and My Initial Bias

It all started when I first became interested in BTS. Naturally, like many fans do, I was drawn to the first person who caught my eye. For me, it was Taehyung, or V as I knew him then. I saw him sitting in the back of the car in James Corden's carpool karaoke, looking mysterious and quite quiet. That moment was the first time I realized how good he looked and how curious I was about him.

My friends were all raving about Jungkook, so I of course wanted to know who he was. At first, I didn’t find him particularly attractive but was drawn to his vibrant personality. However, as it goes, I couldn’t differentiate between them. It wasn’t until I learned all their names and memorized them despite their rapidly changing hair colors that I started to appreciate them on a different level—through their personalities and music.

Gravitating Towards Jin

As my understanding of BTS evolved, I found myself gravitating more towards Jungkook. But then, the mysterious Jimin came along, and now I’m torn between him and Jungkook. My mind changes every day. I love them all and they’re all super talented and attractive. But I will always have a soft spot for all of them, especially Jimin.

Why Jimin is My Bias

My bias is absolutely Jimin. He is an incredibly talented individual, a fact that I can speak not just from a fan's perspective but also from a musician’s. I play violin and have been doing so for over a decade. I’ve been part of state orchestras and been tutored by great preparatory schools. When I hear Jimin sing, I’m in awe of the pure emotion he pours into his voice, the stability in his live performances, and the unique tonal quality he produces. He is a stunning musician even before I recognized him.

A Musicians Perspective

To me, Jimin is more than just a fan's fantasy. When I hear his songs, I can’t help but envy the way he conveys such intense emotion through his voice. He has a level of stability that is rare in live performances, and his tonal quality is something I have yet to hear from any other artist. Even before I could recognize the other members, I had a bias for Jimin. The few seconds I heard his voice were the highlight of the song for me.

Personal and Physical Appeal

Jimin’s personal qualities also contribute to my admiration of him. He is my ideal type in many ways. He’s a great cook, tells dad jokes, is a huge dork, loves animals, is mature yet knows how to have fun, and has a romantic nature that resonates with me.

Beyond First Impressions

Despite his impressive talent and physical appeal, Jimin’s character and personality truly solidified his place as my bias. He is kind, cooks well, tells dad jokes, loves animals, is mature, and knows how to have fun. His romantic nature and the way he carries himself from head to toe make him a dream come true for me, and I can't help but notice his wide shoulders, which just add to the appeal.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I love them all—their talent, their personalities, and their unique qualities. BTS is a group that resonates with me on so many levels, and Jimin is the one who currently holds my heart. Whether I’m drawn to Taehyung, Jungkook, or Jimin, each member has a special place in my heart, and I look forward to watching them grow and evolve together.
