My Love for K-pop Groups: BTS, BLACKPINK, and TWICE
I have always been a huge fan of girl groups and boy groups. While I enjoy the genres that girl groups often explore, I can't deny my deep admiration for boy groups as well. Among these groups, BTS holds a special place in my heart. However, I also appreciate BLACKPINK and TWICE, each for their unique qualities.
The Sweet and Talented BTS
I believe that BTS is the ultimate K-pop group. Their charm stems not only from their cuteness and talent, but also from their deep connection with their fans. BTS is so consistently energetic, and their concerts are a fantastic experience. In contrast, while BLACKPINK's concerts are also spectacular, their tickets tend to be more expensive, and I feel that sometimes, the energy on stage is not as intense as I would like. BTS is still my favorite group, and I proudly consider myself a part of their ARMY.
Blackpink: An Exciting Option
Blackpink truly has a unique style. Their music and performances are always exciting, but their concert tickets can be quite pricey. While I appreciate their work, sometimes their performances do not fully meet my expectations in terms of energy and showtime. However, I must admit, there was a time when I was a huge Blackpink fan and self-identified as a Blink. For now, I've decided to focus on BTS.
Admiration for TWICE
Another group that I greatly enjoy is TWICE. Their music and visual showmanship never disappoint. I have been a full-time TWICE fan since the release of the song Scientist. They consistently deliver, and their performances are always engaging. They have a strong connection with their fans, and I love their variety and innovation. My bias is Nayeon.
Personal Stories and Experiences
I came across BLACKPINK during a video game trend called Gacha Life. It was during this time that I discovered their single How You Like That. At the time, I wasn't as familiar with the Blink(Blackpink fan) community, but their music grabbed my attention. Later, after listening to some of their hits like Dynamite and Boombayah, I fell in love with Jennie. Consequently, I became a true Blink.
On the other hand, my journey with BTS began when I was 11 years old. I joined a Pictionary game and got introduced to BTS through a server. I initially knew nothing about K-pop, but after witnessing some tweets, I intriguingly searched for BTS. It was on a recommendation video that I first listened to their song Boy With Luv and fell in love with Jimin. I started playing their songs repeatedly, but quickly lost interest. However, Butter reignited my passion, and now my bias is Taehyung, whom I famously love in the traditional elevator scene.
Lastly, with TWICE, it all started with their hit song Like Ooh-Aahhhh. I played it several times and enjoyed it. Subsequently, I discovered more of their music and became a full-time fan. Nayeon has always been my favorite, and her personality and energy on stage continue to impress me.
Concluding Thoughts
No matter which group captures my heart, I firmly believe in supporting them. While I currently identify as an ARMY, it doesn’t mean I lack love for BLACKPINK and TWICE. Each K-pop group offers unique experiences, and the beauty of K-pop lies in its diverse portfolio of talent.
