Understanding the ARMY Experience: A Deeper Look at Being a Fan of BTS
Before BTS, I was an individual who did not particularly engage with any other artist or fan community. My appreciation for their music initially propelled a curiosity rather than a full-fledged fandom. However, when the day came where I started my morning by seeking out Questions and Try Not to Laugh (TNTL) challenges, I knew I had found something special. This marked the beginning of my journey as an ARMY—Army, the moniker used by fans of the South Korean boy group BTS.
Being an ARMY: A Journey of Love and Support
For me, being an ARMY transcends simply enjoying their music. It is a commitment to supporting and loving these seven talented individuals as a whole. This means engaging with their music on Weverse platform, streaming their content, and even consuming fan-made content about them. Another significant part of being an ARMY is participating in voting seasons, actively promoting their activities, and tuning in for live sessions on the app, often savored as the best moments of fandom.
Every ANNIVERSARY (annals of the first meeting, abbreviated as ANN) and special moments bring more than just excitement; they also involve vulnerability and authenticity from the artists that can deeply resonate with us. If financial resources allowed, I would indulge in buying official merchandise and attending concerts. While I cannot do so currently, I hold hope that future reunions after their military service will include both of these.
The Core of My Adoration
What propels me to continue loving them despite the occasional frustrations and annoyances? It is their profound goodness and remarkable talent. They are not only skillful in singing, rapping, and dancing but their performances leave me speechless. The energy and dedication displayed during every show are truly commendable. Their humor is a significant source of joy, often making me laugh in the midst of chaotic challenges.

This, more than anything else, makes them relatable and approachable to me. Their mutual respect and genuine love for their fans are evident in their interactions and performances. These qualities are the backbone of what makes BTS more than just a group to me, but a community where I feel seen and valued.
Looking ahead, I am eagerly awaiting 2025, a year that holds significant milestone events for the group. As an ARMY, I am both excited and prepared for whatever surprises and challenges come their way. My journey as an ARMY is a blend of joy, heartache, and transformation, all rooted in my deep love and support for BTS. This fandom, for me, is more than a passion; it is a part of who I am.
