Mornings of Reflection: Daydreams and Deep Insights
Happy Tuesday everyone! This morning started off with a sense of contentment and excitement. After a couple of back stretches, I took a moment for a small gratitude prayer, before getting out of bed to make preparations for the day ahead.
One of my favourite quotes went through my mind: it speaks of pushing ourselves to do more, especially when it comes to physical fitness. Right now, I’m looking to step up my wall pushups and planks, which I find challenging due to a right wrist fracture in December. Thankfully, my daily physiotherapy routines are helping me regain full wrist strength.
But as much as I enjoy working on my physical health, the day didn’t start without a few challenges. Due to pre-scheduled engagements, I found myself unable to address several audience questions. Surprisingly, these thoughts and challenges come and go daily, right as the dawn kicks in.
The Morning Musings
As I got ready to send my kids to school early due to the time change, my mind began to wander. I started thinking about the complexities of human interactions and the reasons behind our behaviors. Why do some people choose to be abusive and critical? Is there ever a moment of realization when we understand why we say or do certain things, and why we hate to apologize?
These reflections aren’t new to me, but they always make me marvel. It's as if a light bulb were to turn on in my brain for the first time, even though I’ve experienced similar thoughts before. It’s a profound realization that brings a deeper understanding of why we are the way we are.

Before I could head out, I realized I needed to take care of a basic biological need – emptying my bladder. However, my thoughts didn’t stop there. The daydreaming continued, leading me to dwell on practical matters like home improvement projects. I dream of having a well-designed yard filled with beautiful trees, shrubs, and flower beds. A landscape architect would be a welcome addition to my team!
My vision is to create a charming backyard – a fence, stepping stones, and a patio with a fire pit. I also have a soft spot for water features, like a koi pond with a waterfall and a nice fountain. Of course, a deck and a swimming pool would complete the space.
Below are a few pictures that capture my dream yard:
Reflections and Insights
Today’s musings have left me in a state of contemplation. Whether it’s about personal fitness, human behavior, or my dream backyard, each thought brings a new perspective. As I continue to navigate the complexities of everyday life, I find comfort in the changes that are coming. There’s always something to look forward to, even if it’s just a step towards a larger goal.
Let me know if you relate to any of these thoughts. I’d love to hear your reflections and insights as well. You can comment here and contribute to our collective journey of growth and understanding.
