Modern-Day Miracles: Unseen Wonders and Miraculous Events in Everyday Life

Has anyone ever told you that there are no miracles in modern times? That's a claim that many people might find hard to believe, especially when they experience moments that seem to defy the ordinary course of life.

Everyday Miracles: Real Examples and Lessons

Today, I had a series of events that could be described as modern miracles. Here they are:

Got off work early and had my car serviced (oil change, tire rotation). No tooth cavities so far, and none ever in my life. Found my car keys and sunglasses which were misplaced for a while. Only one glass of wine last night, maintaining sobriety for at least three nights. Turned down a very attractive girl but got her number. Forgave my younger brother for damaging my car last week. Worked out and did some yoga for the first time in over a month.

These events, though small, are indeed wonderful miracles that can bring joy and meaning to our lives. They remind us of the power of God's wisdom, knowledge, and providence, as they are right in front of our faces but we tend to overlook them.

Miracles in Biblical Context

According to the Bible, miracles are signs of divine intervention. One notable example of a miracle in modern times is the preaching of the gospel worldwide. Despite the efforts of individuals and even governments to stop it, the good news continues to spread. Matthew 24:14 says, 'This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations'

Amos 3:7 also states, 'For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he reveals his confidential matter to his servants the prophets.' This highlights the importance of warnings and prophecies leading to repentance and living according to divine standards.

A True Miracle in Life

A true miracle in my life is my wife, who is in a nursing facility and is receiving therapy to help her stand on a broken ankle and eventually walk around by herself. This is an incredible and heartwarming miracle that showcases the power of love, perseverance, and faith.

Controversial Examples: Modern-Day 'Miracles'

While the examples we have mentioned so far are evident and miraculous, some may argue that the following are modern-day miracles:

The way that people who voted for a sexual predator, serial adulterer, lifelong thief, and, let's be honest, a pedophile rapist can convince themselves that they are Christians.

Other less-traditional examples of modern-day miracles often include spontaneous remissions, unexplained recoveries, and unlikely events that seem miraculous but are not scientifically proven. These can include the Earth ceasing to rotate, which would be catastrophic, or animals speaking in clear English sentences, which are highly improbable but still within the realm of fiction.

The miracles we often refer to in daily life are less dramatic and more subtle, like the small occurrences that keep our spirits uplifted and our faith in the divine strengthened.

Ultimately, what is a modern-day miracle to one person may be insignificant to another. What matters is our ability to recognize and appreciate these wonders in our lives, as they serve as a reminder of the unseen, the wondrous, and the miraculous.
