Can Everything Change in One Moment or Is it Gradual?
The question of whether change happens instantaneously or gradually is a philosophical one that has puzzled many.
Can you change in an instance or does it take a process?
YES!
Change can occur in a second or take a long time. It's up to you.
If you are stubbornly invested in the past, change will take forever in a never-ending process. However, if you are hopeful about the future and dedicate yourself to growth, change can be instantaneous.
Investing in the present and content with the way things are means you won't change or improve.
Improvement
Improvement means living a life that brings you contentment and satisfaction. It's about transforming your experiences to enrich your life.
Life as an Inevitable Process
Life is a process, as Emerson once stated. Change is an integral part of this process. I have been told, 'I can't change!' and I understand. Yet, every aspect of aging, growing, learning, gaining patience, and wisdom happens in our minds.
Everything you are and everything you become is the direct result of your thoughts. By taking control of your thoughts, your life will become more consistent, less moody, and you'll notice the difference in your personal well-being. An astounding sense of calm can come over you when you sense that you are in control of your thoughts.
The Power and Potential of Supreme Consciousness
From the perspective of supreme consciousness, it has infinite power and can change anything instantaneously if it aligns with its omniscience.
Change, however, is always occurring, whether one desires it or not. Changing your mind about lunch, dyeing your hair, or mastering an instrument—each requires a different level of effort and time.
Understanding the Nature of Change
Depending on what you want to change, the process can vary. Cognitive dissonance or habits, for instance, can require more time and effort than simply shifting a one-time thought. Nipping a nail-biting habit can be manageable over a short period, but ingrained habits may take more time to overcome.
My journey from unconscious to more conscious began with a trigger, and led me down a path of transformation and self-improvement. Here's a summary of my path:
