Insights on Rahu Mahadasha: When Does It Bring Its Best?

I don’t know the viewpoint of those respected astrologers, but practically, having more than 12 years of experience, I will not buy this statement. It all depends on the placement and other planetary positions, conjunctions, and aspects. Rahu gives its malefic effects at any age during its Dasha if it is ill-placed in the chart. And sometimes, it can do wonders too.
Also in a political career or in sales or business fields, a well-placed Rahu can make you extremely powerful or rich. It also relies upon the age when you get the Dasha.

Such observations by astrologers can only make people feel helpless as the Dasha period transit is fixed in one’s lifetime. It is said that Rahu matures around the age of 42. Each planet, whether shubh or paap, wants to teach us something.

All ‘planets’ that we talk about in Vedic astrology are nothing but aspects of our consciousness that are deeply related to the energies and connotations of the planets. So during the ages of planetary maturation periods, these aspects of our psyche and consciousness become mature in their expression in our physical life here on the material plane. When we talk about the North node Rahu ji, it matures around the age of 42. This is when most people have achieved or are about to achieve their life’s greatest desires.

This is a very common age when individuals develop a healthier understanding and expression of their desires. Therefore, the major period of the North node usually delivers better results after the age of 42. If any planets have been conjunct the North node, they skipped their maturation ages since they were allotted to the classroom of the North node as apprentices. When the North node matures, these planets mature as well. This often leads to many positive changes in the individual’s life. This is why many astrologers think that the period of nodes give better results after their maturation periods. In fact, you can say this about all planets.

Subjective Nature of 'Good Results'

One thing to bear in mind, however, is that ‘good results’ is a very subjective thing. You may be making considerable progress spiritually but still call it an unfavorable period of your life since material progress is lacking or fluctuating. Even so, there is no hard and fast rule that Rahu mahadasha will give good results only after the age of 42. There are many examples of people who have become immensely successful during the major periods of their North node.

If you watch these movies, you will see that these were very different, very challenging performances where he sought to deliberately step out of his comfort zone to try new roles, scripts, and plot lines. Another thing here that is very important to note is that career-wise things were going great for him, but there were a few challenges in personal life and relationships that are quite consistent with the placement of the North node placement in his chart. His best friend Heath Ledger died of drug overdose in the same period, which laid a heavy toll on Jake’s mental health too.
