Indulge Yourself: A Journey of Self-Treats and Wellness

Life is about finding joy in small and big moments. Treating yourself can be as simple as enjoying a delicious meal or as luxurious as a day spent with animals. When it comes to me, I find unconventional ways to treat myself, from fine dining to quiet time with my pet, all while maintaining a balanced approach to health and happiness.

Indulging in Delicious and Healthy Choices

One common way I treat myself is by indulging in fresh, healthy food. Sometimes it’s a homemade meal with organic ingredients, and other times, it’s a meal out with friends. Whether it’s a fancy grocery store for high-quality organic products or a visit to a local café, I relish in the aroma and flavors of my self-indulgence.

Small Luxuries

In addition to food, I also enjoy smaller luxuries. For example, I recently got a smash cake with salted caramel ice cream and a red velvet cupcake. It’s a treat that brings me joy and a sense of self-appreciation.

Another small luxury I often indulge in is getting my nails done. It’s a perfect moment to unwind and pamper myself. On sunny afternoons, I often drive to Limeuil and enjoy a cozy spot by the river, sipping on a glass of rosé or a chocolat liègeois. If I feel extra indulgent, I might order a Colonel, a more potent version of the chocolat liègeois. After my treat, I prefer to relax at home, either by the pool in the summer or by a roaring fire in the winter.

Quiet Time with Animals

Whenever I get the chance, I love to spend quiet time with animals. Visiting local animal shelters and zoos is one of my favorite self-treats. Seeing the Giant Pandas at the zoo can be an awe-inspiring experience, and I often enjoy observing the playful cats in a cattery setting. For an even more enjoyable experience, I visit my local farm, where I can cuddle baby and adolescent Nigerian dwarf goats, which brings me a lot of joy.

Relaxing at Home

There’s something incredibly relaxing about spending time at home. I often light some incense and listen to old school or RB music, sipping on my favorite wines like Barefoot or Moscato. Chocolate is another of my go-to treats, whether it’s Hershey’s kisses or high-quality dark chocolate. I like to unwind with my pet cat, perhaps giving her some catnip to enjoy as well. Smoking a blunt and enjoying the music from artists like Sade, Erykah Badu, or Maxwell adds a touch of indulgence to my self-care routine.

Key Indulgences:

Hershey’s kisses
Irony in treating myself to something within budget. High-quality dark chocolate
Yum! PNR ebooks
Enjoying reading books by a favorite author.

Treating yourself can take many forms, from the simple to the luxurious, but the most important thing is to enjoy the moments. Self-care is not just about physical pleasure; it’s also about nourishing your soul and spirit. Whether it’s through food, quiet time with animals, or the simple pleasures of home, take the time to indulge yourself and find joy in life.
