If All Pilots in the World Died, Would Humans Fly Again?

We have developed and documented so much about flying that the remaining humans would be able to begin flying aircrafts in no time.

How Do We Continue Flying?

Any pilot training begins with students reading the books. A pilot instructor only helps the student by educating him faster than it would take for the student to self-learn the piloting skills, which would take more time and cost more money. Therefore, it is entirely possible that humans will continue to fly.

From the First Pilot to Today

Eh… I am guessing someone's child asked this question and it ended up here. How did the first man/woman become a pilot? This is the same situation as when all the pilots in the world died. There are two philosophical/logical approaches:

No, because all humans can be pilots and those that are are only part of their life, so basically all humans would die.

Yes, because all humans can be pilots and a significant part of their life is spent on piloting. When is a human an aviation pilot? When navigating a plane, helicopter, or aviation apparatus. So if someone takes a deltawing, they are not a pilot but one in training.

The Possibility of Reviving Flying

The only way to guarantee that humans would never fly again is to kill all humans. If all the pilots in the world died, we would simply start training new pilots. Even if all the people with any knowledge about how to build flying machines, maintain them, fly them, and all the scientific theories about what makes them fly somehow died, this would simply return us to the state we were in before humans figured out how to make flying machines.

Given that we managed to fly from that point, there is no reason we wouldn't be able to do it again. We would rediscover all the required knowledge and skills step by step. The laws of physics that make flight possible will still be operational through all this time.

Returning to Flight

In order to stop humans from flying ever again, you would have to kill off every engineer and scientist and erase a lot of technological developments from our knowledge. Right now, there are plenty of computer flight simulators. Some just deal with basic flight controls, while others are quite detailed. From these basics, it would be easier to get a new batch of pilots.

Conclusion

In conclusion, if all pilots in the world died, humans would still continue to fly. The knowledge and skills to fly are well-documented and can be relearned with sufficient resources and time. Modern technology, such as flight simulators, plays a crucial role in making this feasible and efficient.
