IPCC Passing Story: Overcoming Challenges and Achieving Success
My journey through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Professionalism and Ethics in Practice, Communication and Leadership (IPCC) has been a roller coaster, filled with many ups and downs. This article shares my experiences and the lessons learned along the way.
The Initial Struggle
My IPCC journey began in April 2015, when I cleared the Common Proficiency Test (CPT). Starting my IPCC classes in my hometown, I faced rigorous class timings of 7 to 2. The first few days were particularly daunting, but gradually it became a routine.
After my classes ended in August 2015, I had only two months for self-study. Unfortunately, the classes I joined were not of high quality. Therefore, I had to study entirely on my own, which was both demanding and isolating. The content was complex and new to me, making self-study incredibly challenging. Despite my hard work, I was unable to clear the exam on my first attempt in November 2016.
Resilience and Determination
Despite the initial setback, I refused to give up. I gathered my courage, increased my study time, and focused on every detail. I practiced extensively, took pre-mock test series, and understood the subjects thoroughly. With the help of divine blessings and the support of my family, I managed to clear the first IPCC group in May 2017.
Continuous Improvement and Success
Post-first group clearance, I started my article ship in a reputable CA firm. However, in November 2017, I faced another challenge as I did not clear Group 2 due to issues with the ITSM subject. Undeterred, I took the exam again on May 18, 2018, without success. Eventually, I passed Group 2 on my third attempt in November 2018, scoring 54 in both Audit and ITSM.
