Humorous Pranks and Their Impact: A Personal Journey

Humorous Pranks and Their Impact: A Personal Journey

Life is full of unexpected moments, some of which can be quite hilarious, especially when they involve pranks. Over the years, I've experienced a variety of pranks that have left me amused, confused, and sometimes a bit shocked. Today, I will share some of the most memorable pranks that have impacted me, particularly the one involving my father's dedication to making me feel adopted.

The Leprosy Prank

As a younger child, my father's pranks were so creative and outlandish that they left an indelible mark. One of the most memorable was the time he told me my mother had leprosy. It was a twisted joke aimed at making me feel special, as it implied that even after my mother was "burned up," she still loved me. This prank was further pushed when I was 6 years old and got a tick on my neck. My father, with a devilish grin, told me to come to him and grabbed a lighter to "burn off" the tick. Of course, it was just a prank, but I was so young and believed him, leading to tears and hysterical laughter from my father.

The real commitment to the adoption prank came when both my siblings were much older than me. My father, in his commitment, made it a point to play the "you're adopted" joke at least once a month. He even pulled me aside during a surgery and told me he loved me like I was his own son, and if he died, know that even though I was adopted, he still loved me. My father's consistent prank was so believable that when my current father told me those words, I was convinced he was my real father. This prank lasted for 11 years, leaving me questioning my identity and the love in my life.

The Senior's Prank

Years later, another prank left me in stitches. On a cold evening, a senior came to our junior hostel. With rumors swirling about seniors wanting to interact with us, I was on edge. As I sipped dinner in the common mess, a new girl caught my attention, but I didn't know if she was a senior. I decided to keep a low profile. After dinner, we all went to our rooms, and I noticed a girl from my batch running in, asking questions. It turned out the girl I saw earlier was indeed a senior, and she was there to ask us to introduce ourselves.

As the senior started asking us to introduce ourselves, a nervous energy filled the room. My fatherly sister began the introduction, followed by me. As I spoke, the senior recognized that I was from South India and showed a keen interest. A moment later, my friends were asked to introduce themselves too. Seeing our tense faces, the senior couldn't help but laugh. She explained that she was new to the hostel and didn't expect the interaction to be so serious. It turned out she was just testing us for comedic effect.

The entire experience was filled with laughter and relief, making it one of the best pranks I've ever witnessed. Pranks, whether they are well-intentioned or more mischievous, add a special touch to life and remind us of the humor and creativity in our midst.
