How Would You Spend Your Last Day on Earth?
There's no need to know the exact date of my death to answer this question. Most likely, if the end were to come, it would be in the hospital due to a lingering illness, making even the most adventurous plans impossible. But it's a thought-provoking question, and for me, it would be a bittersweet yet fulfilling journey with those I love.
connecting with loved ones
Walking with my wife through a wilderness or park: My first wish would be to share the beauty of nature with my wife. It would be a peaceful walk, reminiscing about the times we've spent together. Despite the inevitability, the experience would be cherished.
Brunch with my mother: It's a special moment to remind my mother, my only family member to bear a lifelong bond, how much I loveher and how grateful I am for giving me life as we know it. Guiding her through the menu and capturing every laugh and memory would be precious.
Commemorating significant moments and connections
Beachside journaling and reflection: Around 11–12, I would head to the beach, writing in my journal and watching the waves crash against the sand. The sweet ocean scent would be like a reminder of the countless sunsets and beach days shared with others. Each wave would carry away any lingering regrets, leaving only appreciation and remembrance.
Lunch with my sisters: Particularly, I would thank my older sister for helping us escape an abusive situation and for always being there to support me. Sincere expressions of gratitude and the comfort of our sisters wouldn't be taken lightly. Ensuring them that their love and support meant the world to me would be the focal point of our outings.
Family and fun memories
Board games with my family: Between 4–5 in the afternoon, I would spend the day with my family playing board games like Uno. While the intention is to play for a win, the invaluable time spent together and the joy of gaming would far outweigh any competitive spirit.
Eating at a Mexican restaurant: Around 6–7pm, we would enjoy a delicious meal at Guzman y Gomez Mexican fast food chain. Ordering many tacos and quesadillas, and indulging in every last bite, would be a celebration of life and heritage. The meal would be a communal experience, sharing stories and laughter around the table.
Final emotional release and reflection
Cuddling with my cat Felix and expressing love: At 8:30pm, I would give Felix all the love left inside of me while cuddling with him. There wouldn't be anything left unsaid, and each moment of connection would be cherished.
Writing heartfelt letters: I would write letters to each of my loved ones, reminding them how much I love them and how I will always protect them. This personal exchange would be a profound and touching way to express my final sentiments.
Watching a favorite show: At 9:30pm, I would watch the final episode of The Vampire Diaries, ensuring that I finish the series. Even in my final hours, I find solace and happiness in the stories that have always brought me joy.
Final thoughts: As the clock hits midnight, my time on earth would come to an end. The journey may have been filled with struggles and challenges, but the bonds I've formed and the love I've shared would forever remain in my heart.
