Favorite Things That Made My Journey Memorable
EXPERIENCES that have left a lasting impact on my life are the true treasures. One year ago today, I traversed a cross-country journey from Washington State to Florida on my motorcycle. It was undoubtedly one of the coolest things I've ever done at the age of 35.
Lifting and Running
In 2022, I accomplished another remarkable feat that topped the list of my childhood dreams. I saved the life of a cow that was on the brink of being slaughtered. This was a dream I had cherished for over 5 years, and finally, my persistence paid off.
Reading Books
Of all the favorite things I've done, reading books stands out as one of the most enriching. The simple act of picking up a book can transform a reader's life. Here are some noteworthy books I've completed recently:
Silence by Paulo Coelho The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald The Night Circus by Erin MorgensternEven though my busy schedule sometimes limits the time I spend reading, I can never choose food or entertainment over a good book. It serves as my escape from reality. Imagine a situation where a normal person might get lost in their headphones or a book, while I turn my train or bus ride into an adventure with my current reads.
A Daily Ritual: The Metro Ride
My daily routine often involves a metro ride even though it might be a couple of times a week. I cherish these moments deeply. As soon as I enter, my book opens, and I am transported to another world. There is something incredibly satisfying about being lost in thought while my surroundings blur.
If I see another person reading a book in the metro or at any unexpected place, I feel a sense of camaraderie. It is like finding a kindred spirit, especially if they are wearing a mask and still immersing themselves in their book. I smile, even wider when I watch someone engrossed in a novel.
The Imprint of a Cow
Moreover, saving a life is an indelible memory. In 2022, I saved a cow named Luna, who had been in danger of being killed. This event is deeply etched in my heart. For over 5 years, I had saved up money to buy her, and finally, I was able to keep her. This experience highlighted the importance of compassion and the impact of persistent effort in achieving one's dreams.
So, if you ever have to choose between a constant supply of pani puris and the opportunity to read books for life, I wouldn't give up my books for anything. After all,
reading is my escape, a sanctuary, and a true source of joy
. Thanks for reading, and I hope my journey inspires you to find your own special moments and favorite things.Signing OFF,
