Exploring New Horizons: Moving with Purpose and Independence
While my plans were to enjoy a hedonistic and meaningful trip to Mexico City, the unexpected arrival of my friend Helene has put a damper on the adventure. Instead, I find myself in Florida, where the aftermath of a major hurricane has left over a hundred people dead and billions of dollars in damage. Despite the challenge, this situation is also an opportunity to reflect on the resilience and adaptability required in our lives.
A Proud Moment of Financial Freedom
My retirement plan has always focused on financial stability and flexibility. One key aspect was ensuring my mortgage was paid off before retiring, which I managed to achieve in merely ten years, and even a year early. This early victory allowed me and my wife to pursue our dreams of relocation without financial constraints. We now have the flexibility to visit our grandchild, who lives about an hour away, frequently, as the house is a warm and inviting place for both of us.
Exploring New Horizons
With the house now paid off, it's the perfect time to explore new possibilities. My husband and I have packed our vehicle and camper, and he is running the final errands before our departure. Our destination? We haven't entirely decided yet. We plan to take the kids to a few fun places, and importantly, Jett is coming too. My handgun and rifle are also part of our luggage, as a precautionary safeguard. There's a message in this for anyone who might be paying attention: be prepared.
A New Chapter of Independence
For someone like me, who has achieved a significant milestone – a fantastic job placement that marks the start of a new, independent phase of life – moving to a new place holds a special significance. Once I mentioned that I am now independent and part of a multinational corporation (MNC), it was time to relax and explore new horizons. As the final year of my college comes to an end and 2023 approaches, my focus shifts back to my home. Missing home for a long time, it feels like I'm finally going back to where I belong.
Visiting my grandparents, who have been a guiding force in my life, is a profound experience that brings immense joy. Dancing with happiness and a constant smile on my face, I am walking towards my career and its achievements, promising to do well and make my parents proud.
With this new beginning in 2023, I am committed to making a positive impact and achieving great things. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting journey.
