Experiencing Lucid Dreams: A Real and Powerful Phenomenon
Lucid dreaming, a topic often met with skepticism, is in fact a real and powerful experience. Many individuals, including myself, have encountered and vividly recall these dreams. Almost since I was a child, I have been fascinated by my dreams. They are incredibly vivid and have always felt like messages from another realm, a silent messenger that conveys important information.
My experiences with lucid dreaming have often felt like surreal adventures, filled with moments of clarity and control. When my mom mentioned the possibility of recognizing that we are dreaming, I was eager to test this out for myself. Around the age of 12 to 13, I encountered my first lucid dream, which began with a spinning clock.
According to my mother, if you see a spinning clock, it's a sign to affirm that you are dreaming, and from that moment, everything comes to a halt, allowing you to become self-aware. I followed her guidance and said to myself, "I'm dreaming." Miraculously, the entire scene stopped, and I found myself in a state of profound lucidity. I could freely explore this new world, even to the point of levitating and flying through the skies like the famous Tomb Raider game.
Levitation and Communication in Lucid Dreams
One specific dream involved me flying through the clouds, and wanting to meet someone I secretly admired. By commanding the dream, I was shown exactly where this person was residing. I could even see him, which was a powerful and convincing experience. To this day, I'm not certain if my mind had physically traveled to this location or if it was purely imaginary. Nonetheless, the impact of being able to see and request this vision is indescribable.
Overcoming Game Challenges
In another instance, while playing Tomb Raider in real life, I became stuck on a particular level. Feeling frustrated, I told myself to figure out how to pass the level before going to sleep. Upon entering the dream, I saw the spinning clock again. Following my own advice, I asked to be shown how to pass the level. I was instantly transported back into the game and was shown the solution. When I awoke the next morning, I tested my newfound knowledge in the game and successfully passed the level, experiencing a moment of pure elation.
The Power of Lucid Dreams and Practice
I have encountered a few other lucid dreams since then, but the memories of these experiences are not as clear. Lucid dreaming is a skill that requires consistent practice to master. It's not a one-time phenomenon, but rather a journey of rediscovering the power of our subconscious mind.
Conclusion
My experiences with lucid dreaming have been nothing short of extraordinary. These dreams are not only a testament to the power of the human mind but also a reminder of the infinite possibilities that lie within our subconscious. By acknowledging and practicing this skill, we can unlock a new realm of personal growth and exploration.
