Defining Happiness: My Journey to Joy
In the grand scheme of life, happiness is more than just a fleeting emotion. It's a state of being that we often strive for, yet finding the authenticity of this feeling can be elusive. For me, happiness is not something that has to be defined by external achievements or events; it is more about the joy we find in the small things and the resilience we cultivate despite life's inevitable challenges.
Happiness: What Brings Me Most Joy
Happiness is a multifaceted feeling that encompasses several aspects of life. For me, there are numerous reasons to feel joyful:
Good Health A Small Gift A Morning Call (literally, a phone call) Morning Coffee Meeting Friends Long Distance Enjoying Good Food Completing Personal Goals, such as drinking 2.5 liters of water in a day Shopping, even just for a simple thing like a chocolateThese are the little moments that bring me joy and are often overlooked. They remind us that happiness is not just about grand achievements, but also about the smaller, everyday victories that make life worth living.
A Journey of Transformation
Happiness is not just about finding it, but sometimes, it is about overcoming darkness to find light. Three to four years ago, I was in a particularly dark place. My family was going through financial struggles, leading to a negative and dark environment at home. I was also going through my first heartbreak, which was the worst of my life. It reached a point where I even considered suicide. This was a nightmare that left a scar on my life.
Feeling like a trash heap, I looked within and realized what was happening to me and my family. For the first time in my life, I made a promise to myself: I would never look back and would work hard to ensure a better future for everyone. I treasured my parents' love and took my life and hard work seriously. It wasn't easy, but the journey taught me the immense value of reflection and progress.
A Famous Saying: "What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger"
I slowly overcame the financial struggles and my workplace recognized the hard work I put in. I got promoted with a good salary, and soon, I received offers from other firms, securing positions with even higher salaries. My parents were in a state of elation hearing these achievements. They were incredibly proud and even got to afford an Air Conditioned Apple PC, which they considered a luxury!
Now, instead of pitying me, those same relatives who once made my life miserable would praise me, saying, 'Your daughter has surpassed us! We never thought you'd achieve something like this.' Hearing their praise and seeing the proud smiles on my parents' faces are what bring me the most joy and satisfaction. It fills my life with a sense of worth and purpose.
The Power of Resilience
It is truly amazing how one person's journey can inspire and teach others. Resilience is not just a trait; it is a key to personal and professional success. The greatest lesson I have learned is the importance of patience and power to hold oneself firm. This journey has been a testament to the fact that with the right mindset and determination, one can overcome any obstacle.
I urge everyone to embrace their journey, whether it is filled with challenges or triumphs. Keep moving forward, regardless of the past. Always look ahead and believe in the power of your own resilience.
Al-hum-dulillah!
