First Solo Victory Royale
One of the more unexpected moments in Fortnite was my first solo Victory Royale. It didn't happen often, but when it did, it stood out from all others due to the circumstances.
As a PC player, I could never get into building, which was my primary issue in the game. I spent most of my time either camping or fighting, often in the 2nd or 3rd place with mediocre weapons. The gaming season I'm referring to had Midas gear, and boy, did it get competitive. During this particular match, I somehow managed to get into the top three with two Mythical Weapons. The only other thing I could rely on was my aim, but I wasn't the best with that either. The situation was critical.
As I waited, the other top players started building their fortresses. They built in a stair-like configuration on top of the mountains, which was a smart move. A notification popped up on my screen: 'Person X killed Person Y.' I immediately noticed the weak spots in their structures and decided to break through their defenses. Just like that, the top player fell off and died, giving me the Victory Royale.
Single Player’s Fear and Triumphs
Once, I joined a duos match but ended up alone when my partner quit. My remaining weapon was a bolt-action sniper, and I chose to camp near the Dusty Depot on a 1x1 map. I spotted two players at the Depot and managed to down one of them. However, the other player was nowhere to be found.
I started emoting as I tried to dance, exclaiming, "Got him!" Meanwhile, the second player sneaked up behind me and started spraying shots. I was so terrified that I jumped, 360 no-scoped my way to his face, and ended up getting both kills. This was probably my only time successfully using the sniper to achieve such a feat. The adrenaline was so intense that I almost lost control of my bladder with fear.
Just when I tried to calm down and continue emoting, the other player sniped me in the head. It's moments like this that make me appreciate the risks and excitement of playing Fortnite.
