While pouring more alcohol to sustain the reaction, Mr. N accidentally dropped the alcohol container. This resulted in an explosion that showered the students with burning alcohol, causing flames to spread throughout the classroom. I remember feeling a sudden, intense pain on the side of my face. Quickly realizing the severity, I managed to run out of the classroom with some others.

The school immediately evacuated, and the fire department and ambulances arrived swiftly. At least a dozen students were burned, with those with less severe burns taken to a nearby hospital, while those with facial burns were taken to a private hospital with a dedicated burn clinic. I ended up with second-degree chemical burns on half my face. Several classmates similarly suffered second-degree burns on their faces, while some had burns on their arms and legs.
The teacher also sustained significant injuries, including second and third-degree burns on his hands and stomach, despite the immediate attempt to extinguish the flames. Fortunately, none of us ended up with visible scarring, but under certain lighting, three burn rings are still discernible on my face.
