BTS Army: A Journey of Self-Love, Support, and Friendship
The journey of being a BTS Army can be traced back for many members for over a decade, while others may have joined more recently. Regardless of the length of time, the experience of being a fan comes with a set of unique benefits that can significantly impact one's life.
Personal Experience with BTS
I have been an Army for about an year now. The best thing about being a BTS Army is that I don't feel the need to make friends or impress others anymore. I stop feeling lonely and instead I find myself happier for no reason. I am more self-focused, and I enjoy my company the most. If I am fortunate enough to fall in love, I will start making double-meaning jokes. I am also motivated to connect with all the members, regardless of which member I support. I have learned about more K-pop bands and have gained knowledge about Korean culture through my Army members' interest in Korean fashion. Most importantly, I no longer care about others and instead focus on my own life. This is a journey that has lasted for me for 11 years, from the time I was 13 when my cousin introduced me to them, and continuing until now. I have supported them throughout my life, and they have changed my life for the better. I treat them like friends and make videos for them, create custom shirts for them, and write songs about them. This is a testament to how much they mean to me.
I started being an Army in early 2019 and the best thing about it is that I have started to love myself and it has greatly transformed me. Their messages have had a profound impact on me, and overall being an Army is the best decision I have ever made in my life. I also know of a cousin who has been an Army for the past 5 years and has supported them from her early teens to now. For her, being a BTS Army means more than just being a fan; it is a part of her identity and she treats them like friends.
Being an Army since 2017, I can't remember a time when I didn't love BTS. Latinas often grow up surrounded by cumbia and bachata, but my life changed when I discovered K-pop. It all started on YouTube when I was watching a favorite YouTuber reacting to Blackpink. My friend then mentioned BTS, and I decided to give them a chance. The music, the dance, and the aesthetics of the videos immediately caught my attention. I kept listening to them, and the rest is history. I became an Army and my life has never been the same since then.
Conclusion
The journey of being a BTS Army is not just about enjoying the music and performances; it is about personal growth and development as well. Each member shares a unique perspective on their experience, highlighting the positive impact that being an Army has had on their lives. Whether it's about self-love, support, or friendship, being a BTS Army comes with a set of experiences that are hard to forget. It is a profound journey that brings us closer to ourselves and to one another.
