A Young Voter's Perspective on the 2020 US Presidential Election

As a young voter, I have watched the 2020 US Presidential Election with a mix of awe and disbelief. The divide in opinions across America is stark, especially when it comes to the candidacy of Donald Trump. In this piece, I will share my thoughts and questions surrounding the election, while ensuring that no one takes offense.

The Trump Supporter's Perspective

A common refrain heard among Trump supporters is the dismissal of Democrats and their candidate, Kamala Harris. I must clarify that I did not intend to offend anyone with the title of this post. My parents voted for Kamala Harris and I completely agree with their choice. While I may be slightly biased as a Swiftie who supports Taylor Swift's endorsement, my agreement is more than just that. I find it hard to comprehend how people can support Trump.

Trump's past statements, such as alleging that people in Ohio are eating pets and that kids return from school with gender transplants, are alarming. These claims are not only false but also deeply disturbing. How can more than half of the country believe in such absurdity? It seems that some people are much more gullible than I had initially thought.

I am puzzled by the large number of people who believe in these conspiracy theories and myths. Why do they ignore the evidence that contradicts these claims? For instance, at my school, the most advanced in the country, a gender identity issue is handled by medical professionals and not with any drastic or irreversible actions. This is in stark contrast to Trump's baseless allegations.

The Betrayal of Falsehoods

Donald Trump's past presidency and the current election have raised serious concerns for many. His leadership style and policies have been criticized for being controversial and sometimes unacceptable. Despite these criticisms, the majority of the country still supports him. How do people believe so fervently in something that has caused such turmoil and discord?

It is clear that many of Trump's supporters are motivated by fear, distrust, and a desire for change. They perceive Trump as a figure who can make things right. However, it is equally important to question whether this change would benefit the whole country or merely serve his interests. It is essential to critically examine his policies and their implications for all Americans.

The Gender and Race Issue

The election results have also brought to light issues of gender and race. Some people are hesitant to vote for Kamala Harris because she is a woman. This is deeply problematic, as it perpetuates the idea that women are not capable of leading a country. Women have made significant strides in various sectors, and it is high time they were given the same opportunities as men.

Additionally, there are those who oppose Harris because of her racial background. This is equally troubling, as it highlights deep-rooted racial biases that still exist in our society. It is important to address these issues and work towards a more inclusive and equitable society.

A Plea for Understanding

I understand that some people choose Trump based on their personal beliefs and values. However, it is crucial to have open and respectful dialogue to bridge the divide. I believe that if people took the time to listen and understand each other's viewpoints, we could come to a better understanding of why others support Trump.

For those who support Trump, I hope you can explain why you believe he is the better candidate. Understanding your perspective will help me make a more informed decision in future elections. Similarly, I hope you can see the merits of Kamala Harris and other candidates. Remember, we are all Americans and our democracy relies on unity and cooperation.

NO OFFENSE MEANT. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING IN THIS POST THE WRONG WAY.
