A Decade of Devotion: How Long Have You Been a Fan of Girls Generation?

As a loyal fan, have you ever wondered how long you've been supporting Girls Generation? The journey of joining one of the most iconic K-pop groups has been a rollercoaster filled with love, disappointment, and incredible moments. Discover the stories of four fans who share their journeys with the group.

Story 1: A Chance Encounter

It all began in the year 2008, when curiosity led me to search for 'Fin.K.L.' on Google. Instead, I stumbled upon Big Bang and became captivated by their music. However, my desire for female artists was not met by Big Bang, as I was in search of 'Korean music girls.' Riding on this keyword, I found myself coming across Girls Generation. Despite liking them from the beginning, my relationship with the group remained somewhat ambiguous – a love and dislike for an equal number of their songs.

Later, around 2016, I decided to check up on Big Bang only to be redirected to 'Genie.' This time, my relationship with Girls Generation changed. My cousin, who was already a massive fan, introduced me to their music and dance. Songs like 'The Boys' and 'I Got A Boy' captivated me, and I became a part of the SNSD fandom. The 9/30 incident further solidified my devotion, making me a lifelong SONE (Supporter of Nana SNSD).

Story 2: A Fandom Born Unintentionally

Around 2013, my cousin introduced me to the world of Girls Generation. It started simply, with them playing and dancing their songs. This led me to watch their variety shows, which sparked a deeper love for the group. Over the years, we have witnessed their growth and faced challenges together.

Now, among all the years we've lived and the many changes, achieving 10 years together is something incredibly amazing and beautiful. We've come a long way, and this anniversary makes us all the more proud. As one member, I can honestly say, 'Cheers to 10 years!'

Story 3: An Awakening Apocalypse

I've heard about Girls Generation since the era of Geeg and IGAB, but I believe I became a fan in late 2014. Three years later, I was already a die-hard fangirl. I talked to friends constantly about how great Girls Generation is, how they deserve to be on top, and how I'm proud of them.

Momentous events such as Teasers and fanmeets in America only fueled my passion. I even started following their guest shows and trying to learn more about them. The success of their comeback, especially after 'The Boys,' was what truly made me fall in love with the group. I feel privileged and grateful to have known them through the latter half of their career, and I'm eagerly waiting for the 10th anniversary.

Story 4: A Fellowship of Fans

This question actually caught me off guard, making me reconsider both the technical and emotional aspects of my fandom. If we're being precise, I've been a fan for five years, but it's more about the number of times the girls have had comebacks rather than the passage of years.

I knew about them since the debut of TaeTiSeo, but it wasn't until after Super Junior that I fully shifted my attention to Girls' Generation. The awakening of my perception on bisexuality and my exposure to TaeNy fanfictions only added to my admiration for them. The success of their comeback after 'The Boys' profoundly affected me, and I feel a deep connection to every member and their growth.

Today, as I look at the new teaser photos, I can't help but feel euphoric. This anniversary is more than just a celebration of the group; it's a testament to the incredible journey we've shared as fans. Here's to the next 10 years and beyond!
